Durham, NC (October 27, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred late Saturday night, resulting in the deaths of a woman and a child in Durham. At approximately 8:37 PM on October 26, the Durham Police Department responded to a serious collision on Page Road near Holloman Road.
Preliminary reports indicate that a black 2015 Infiniti QX60 was traveling north on Page Road when it collided head-on with a blue 2008 Chevy Cobalt. The Chevy Cobalt was driven by 35-year-old Sherri Walker, who was heading south on the roadway. Emergency responders transported Walker to a nearby hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Infiniti sustained minor injuries in the crash. In addition to Walker, four passengers were in her vehicle at the time of the accident, including three children under the age of five and one adult. Tragically, one of the children later died as a result of their injuries. The remaining passengers sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
