Duluth, MN (February 15, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision on eastbound Highway 2 near the Bong Bridge in Duluth, St. Louis County, left one person injured on Friday evening.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP), the crash occurred at approximately 5:30 PM when a 2011 Nissan Sentra and a 2015 Jeep Cherokee collided at the intersection of Highway 2 and I-35.
The driver of the Jeep Cherokee, identified as 50-year-old Gregory John Maher of Elk River, did not sustain injuries. The driver of the Nissan Sentra, 28-year-old Eric Roy Gustavsson of Hermantown, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that both drivers were wearing seat belts and that no alcohol was involved in the crash. Emergency responders, including Duluth Police, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, and Dukes Towing, assisted at the scene.
