Dubuque County, IA (January 8, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 52 South and Kemp Rd, resulting in one fatality. Deputies from the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Iowa State Patrol and Key West Fire Department, responded to the scene around 4:30 PM.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered two of the three drivers involved were injured and trapped inside their vehicles. Emergency crews worked to extricate the individuals, who were subsequently transported to Dubuque hospitals. Tragically, one of the drivers was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other injured driver is expected to recover.
The name of the deceased has not been released as authorities work to notify their family. Details regarding the driver who was reportedly airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) have not been updated.
