Dubuque County, IA (January 25, 2025) – A tragic accident involving a car and a semi-truck claimed the life of one individual on Friday night in Dubuque County. The Iowa State Patrol reported that the crash occurred at approximately 9:07 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 51 and Monastery Road.
According to the report, a 2016 Nissan was traveling westbound on Skyline Road when it failed to stop at the intersection with Highway 51 and Skyline/Monastery Road. The vehicle was struck by a northbound 2011 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by 22-year-old Cody Charles Wick of Gratiot, Wisconsin. The driver of the Nissan was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the victim is being withheld pending family members’ notification.
The accident remains under investigation by local authorities to determine the factors contributing to the collision.
