Douglas County, CO (September 11, 2024) – Two people sustained injuries in a plane crash at Meridian Golf Club on Wednesday morning, September 11. The incident occurred around 9:44 a.m. near the seventh hole of the golf course, according to South Metro Fire Rescue. Fire crews and Douglas County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene shortly after the crash.
The small Cessna aircraft had just taken off from Centennial Airport when it crashed and flipped upside down. Both individuals on board were able to exit the plane on their own and walked away with minor injuries, according to sheriff’s officials.
A photo shared by South Metro Fire Rescue showed the Cessna upside down with damage to its wings and nose. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
