Des Moines Co., IA (October 3, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on US Highway 34 on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the death of one individual. The incident took place around 1 PM when a garbage truck was traveling westbound on the highway.
According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, a witness observed the garbage truck backing up on the highway until it reached a crossover. At the same time, a car was also traveling westbound when the truck turned in front of the vehicle to access the crossover.
