Denham Springs, LA (September 23, 2024) – A tragic two-vehicle accident occurred in Livingston Parish on Sunday evening of September 22, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Noah Sanders from Denham Springs. The Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to the scene at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Sanders was driving a 2017 Cadillac ATS eastbound on LA 1019 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle crossed the centerline and entered the westbound lane. In doing so, the Cadillac collided head-on with a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction.
Despite being properly restrained, Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene. A front-seat passenger in the Cadillac, who was also wearing a seatbelt, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were unrestrained and suffered severe injuries, leading to their transport to a local hospital as well.
At this time, impairment is not suspected as a contributing factor in the crash; however, standard toxicology samples will be taken and analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Noah Sanders during this difficult time.
