Darlington, SC (January 9, 2025) – Authorities are investigating a tragic multi-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of two individuals and left several others injured on U.S. 52 near Horse Branch Trail, just outside the Dovesville community. The collision occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to LCpl. Lena Butler with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Reports indicate that a Nissan Altima and a Toyota Camry, both traveling southbound on U.S. 52, collided. The impact caused the Toyota to veer left of center, where it was struck by a northbound Ford F-350. The driver and a passenger in the Toyota were pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger from the Nissan and all three occupants of the Ford were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Their conditions have not been disclosed. The driver of the Nissan was unharmed.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
