Darlington County, SC (October 5, 2024) – A tragic early morning crash occurred on Friday, resulting in the deaths of two drivers and leaving one passenger injured just outside of Hartsville. The incident took place at approximately 1:26 a.m. on Highway 151 near Gum Circle, about three miles east of Hartsville, as reported by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
According to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler, a 2014 Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound while a 2007 Toyota Avalon was heading west when the two vehicles collided. The driver of the Sentra was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger in the vehicle was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, the driver of the Avalon, who was traveling alone, also died at the scene.
