Cumberland County, PA (February 13, 2025) – A wrong-way crash that injured six people on Route 15 stemmed from an altercation at a car wash in Lower Allen Township, according to newly released police reports.
The incident began on January 17, just before 5 p.m., at the Capital City Car Wash. Police say a suspect, whose name has not been disclosed, was involved in a dispute before striking a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The suspect then fled the scene, driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Route 15.
Dashcam footage captured the suspect’s erratic driving moments before the crash. Investigators report that the suspect sideswiped a 2020 Volkswagen Jetta before continuing south, narrowly avoiding multiple collisions. The chaotic incident ended in Upper Allen Township with a multi-vehicle crash involving seven cars.
Authorities confirmed that 12 people were involved in the crash, with six individuals suffering injuries, including the 29-year-old suspect. The ages of those injured range from 6 to 73 years old. Emergency responders provided medical care at the scene and transported those in need of further treatment to local hospitals. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation and the wrong-way driving incident. Charges against the suspect are pending.
