Cumberland County, PA (January 12, 2025) – A tragic house fire on Saturday night claimed the life of a homeowner and left two firefighters injured in the 1000 block of Country Club Rd. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after the fire broke out around 8:13 p.m.
The Cumberland County Coroner identified the deceased as 76-year-old Adnan Bakr Zawawi, the homeowner. The cause of his death remains under investigation. Emergency crews discovered his body during efforts to contain the blaze.
Two firefighters sustained injuries while battling the fire, with one requiring hospitalization. The condition of the hospitalized firefighter is currently unknown.
Fire crews worked diligently to extinguish the flames and prevent further damage to neighboring properties. Local authorities and fire investigators are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
