Crockery Township, MI (October 5, 2024) – A collision involving a moped and a pickup truck occurred on Friday evening, October 4 resulting in injuries to two juveniles. The accident took place around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cleveland Street and Apple Drive, as reported by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies, the two juveniles were riding westbound on Cleveland Street on their moped when an 18-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet pickup truck attempted to turn left onto Apple Drive. Unfortunately, the truck turned into the path of the moped, leading to the collision.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and the operator of the moped was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The passenger on the moped sustained minor injuries. Both juveniles were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, which likely mitigated the severity of their injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.
