Crisp County, GA (February 20, 2025) – Two people lost their lives in a head-on crash early Wednesday morning on Interstate 75, according to the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that the collision occurred around 1:00 a.m. when a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes struck another driver heading south. Just moments before the crash, a 911 call had been placed regarding a wrong-way driver. Deputies were actively searching for the vehicle when they came upon the wreckage.
Emergency responders, including Crisp County Fire Rescue, EMS, the Cordele Police Department, and the Crisp County Coroner’s Office, arrived at the scene. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials have not yet released the names of the victims as they work to notify the families. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
