Columbus, OH (February 22, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle crash in northeast Columbus left one person dead and another injured on Friday evening, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
The accident occurred just before 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of Morse Rd and Chesford Rd.
Authorities reported that a 2017 Toyota Corolla was traveling west on Morse Rd when it crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic. A 2017 Dodge van, which was traveling eastbound, was struck in the collision just east of Chesford Rd.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and transported both drivers to local hospitals. The driver of the Toyota Corolla was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where they were pronounced dead at 9:16 p.m. The driver of the Dodge van was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Following the crash, police closed Morse Rd’s westbound lanes at Westerville Rd and eastbound lanes at Cleveland Ave to conduct an investigation. The road has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation by local law enforcement.
