Columbia Twp, MN (November 18, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision occurred Sunday morning in Polk County, leaving one driver injured. The crash took place at approximately 9:16 a.m. on westbound Highway 2 at Polk County Rd 4 in Lengby, within Columbia Township.
According to authorities, a 2015 Kia Optima driven by 77-year-old Karen Lee Ebertowski of Bemidji, MN, was traveling westbound on Highway 2. Meanwhile, a 2002 Chevy Silverado, operated by 42-year-old Amber Lynn Otto of Fosston, MN, was traveling northbound on Polk County Rd 4. The vehicles collided at the intersection under dry road conditions.
Emergency responders, including the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Fosston Fire Department, and Essentia Fosston Ambulance, arrived promptly to assist at the scene. Otto sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Essentia Health for treatment. Ebertowski reported no injuries. Both drivers were confirmed to be wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and no alcohol involvement was reported. The airbag in the Kia Optima deployed, while the airbag in the Chevy Silverado did not.
