Colquitt County, GA (October 17, 2024) – A Georgia State Patrol trooper was involved in a serious crash Wednesday evening that resulted in injuries to both the trooper and the driver of another vehicle. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. as the trooper and an ambulance were traveling northbound on SR 133, en route to a crash scene.
According to reports, both the trooper and the ambulance activated their emergency equipment as they approached the intersection of SR 133 and SR 35. While the ambulance successfully navigated through the intersection, the trooper was unable to do so. A Lincoln SUV failed to yield to the patrol unit and collided with the trooper’s vehicle, striking it on the front right passenger side.
The collision resulted in injuries for both the female driver of the Lincoln SUV and the trooper. Emergency responders transported both individuals to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the trooper was later discharged from the hospital after receiving care.
