Colorado Springs, CO (November 5, 2024) – A motorcyclist lost their life following a serious crash at the intersection of Garden of the Gods Rd and Interstate 25 on Sunday afternoon. This tragic incident marked the second fatal motorcycle accident in Colorado Springs that day, with another rider also killed in a separate collision in the southeast part of the city.
The crash at Garden of the Gods Rd led to the closure of all eastbound lanes just west of I-25, with traffic remaining restricted for several hours. The closure began around 3 p.m., and the road was fully reopened by 8 p.m. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), and AMR paramedics all responded to the scene. The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to their injuries en route.
The identity of the deceased rider has not been released, pending family notification. CSPD’s Major Crash Team is actively investigating the incident to determine the factors that led to the collision. At this time, no arrests have been made, and further details on the cause of the crash remain limited.
