Colorado Springs, CO (January 9, 2025) – A tragic hit-and-run incident on Wednesday morning claimed the life of a 76-year-old woman as she crossed the street in Cimarron Hills. Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is searching for two dark-colored trucks believed to be involved in the fatal crash.
The accident occurred just after 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of Constitution Ave and Peterson Blvd. According to CSP, surveillance footage shows the woman crossing Constitution Ave when the first truck, turning from Peterson Blvd, struck her. Moments later, a second dark-colored truck making the same turn hit her again. Both vehicles fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
Authorities reopened the intersection around 10:00 a.m. as investigations continued. CSP is actively reviewing surveillance footage and seeking assistance from the public to identify the vehicles involved.
