Collins, MO – Fatal Crash on US-54 Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured

Collins, MO (September 15, 2024) – A fatal crash occurred on US-54, one mile west of Collins, Saturday afternoon, September 14 leaving one man dead and two others injured. The incident happened at 4:45 PM when a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country, driven by 23-year-old James A. Moyers, crossed the centerline due to equipment failure and struck a 2002 Harley Davidson.

The motorcycle’s driver, 63-year-old Jesse E. Murray, was ejected upon impact and pronounced dead at the scene. Moyers and a 12-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
