Collier County, FL (October 17, 2024) – A serious motorcycle accident occurred in south Naples when a motorcyclist was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Barefoot Williams Road and Tamiami Trail E. The incident took place on Tuesday evening, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.
Emergency crews from Greater Naples Fire and Collier County EMS arrived at the scene at approximately 7:52 PM. According to radio communications from Fire and EMS, the motorcyclist, an approximately 50-year-old male, sustained serious injuries that met “Trauma Alert” criteria. He was subsequently transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center via a MedFlight helicopter for urgent medical care.
The accident led to the temporary shutdown of the southbound lanes of US-41, although those lanes have since reopened to traffic. Fortunately, no other injuries have been reported in connection with this incident. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
