Cole County, MO (January 3, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision on West Business Highway 50, west of Pioneer Drive, Friday morning left one driver injured and required the towing of both vehicles. The crash occurred at approximately 11:20 a.m., involving a 2013 Dodge Caravan and a 2013 Toyota Venza.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident happened when the Toyota Venza, traveling northbound, entered W Business 50 and collided with the Dodge Caravan, which was traveling eastbound. The impact caused the Dodge to veer off the left side of the roadway while the Toyota came to rest in the roadway.
The driver of the Dodge Caravan, a 69-year-old woman from Jefferson City, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Cole County EMS to Capital Region Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Toyota Venza, an 87-year-old woman, was uninjured. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and urge drivers to exercise caution and remain alert, particularly when navigating busy intersections and merging lanes.
