Cocke County, TN (February 26, 2025) – Emergency responders were quick to the scene of an accident with injuries that occurred on U.S. Highway 25/70 near Clevenger Cut Off on Tuesday afternoon.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) reported that the crash involved a 2003 Ford F-150, a second vehicle, and a school bus. According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of the Ford F-150 was in a turn lane attempting to turn onto Clevenger Cut Off when they began accelerating and collided with the driver’s side of another vehicle traveling eastbound. Following that impact, the Ford F-150 also struck a school bus.
Officials confirmed that 28 children were aboard the school bus at the time of the accident, but none sustained injuries. However, the driver of the Ford F-150 did suffer injuries and was provided medical assistance at the scene. Authorities have not yet released further details about the severity of the driver’s injuries or their current condition.
THP stated that charges against the driver of the Ford F-150 are pending as the investigation remains ongoing. Traffic in the area was impacted while emergency crews worked to clear the scene and assess the situation.
