Cochrane, WI (February 12, 2025) – A tragic crash on State Highway 35 near State Highway 88 claimed the life of a 16-year-old driver Monday evening, according to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred around 7 p.m., when the southbound vehicle driven by the teenager lost control, crossed the centerline, and collided with a northbound car driven by a 21-year-old. Witnesses at the scene reported that the teen’s vehicle appeared to skid before the impact.
Sadly, the 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The 21-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital in Winona for treatment. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the teen to lose control, and the crash remains under investigation.
