Cochise County, AZ (September 16, 2024) – Three people died and two others were critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near milepost 391 on Saturday, September 14. The collision involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle with five occupants around 5 p.m.
Authorities confirmed that all three fatalities were from the passenger vehicle, while the two surviving occupants were airlifted to a Tucson hospital. Their conditions remain critical.
The tractor-trailer caught fire following the crash, but the condition of its driver has not been released. The westbound lanes of I-10 were closed for hours as traffic was diverted onto Highway 70 and Highway 191. The Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the incident.
