Clermont, IA (October 16, 2024) – A traffic accident occurred on Tuesday morning involving a combine and a truck in the 3000 block of Diamond Road, approximately three miles south of Clermont. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 8:55 a.m. to investigate the incident.
Upon arrival, authorities determined that 71-year-old Christian Beryl Miller of Clermont was operating a John Deere 9560STS combine equipped with a grain head. Miller was traveling westbound when he collided with a red 1997 Chevrolet K3500 truck, which was traveling eastbound at the time of the crash.
The Chevrolet, driven by 19-year-old Ben James Gibson of Elgin, sustained significant damage and was deemed a total loss. Fortunately, reports indicate that only minor injuries were sustained by those involved in the accident.
