Clearwater, FL (January 11, 2025) – A tragic accident early Saturday morning claimed the life of a pedestrian on Ulmerton Rd near 40th St N. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the incident occurred at approximately 2:55 a.m.
According to FHP, a 69-year-old Clearwater man attempted to cross Ulmerton Rd on foot when he was struck by an eastbound Honda Odyssey driven by a 36-year-old Clearwater man. Following the initial collision, the pedestrian was struck a second time by a Nissan Sentra, driven by a 39-year-old Cutler Bay man, traveling behind the Odyssey.
Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol, which has not yet disclosed additional details.
