Clay, MO (October 28, 2024) – A vehicle collision occurred on SB 35, just south of Antioch Road, at approximately 10:05 AM. The incident involved two vehicles and prompted a response from local emergency services.
Preliminary reports indicate that the accident involved a 2017 Kia, driven by 35-year-old Claudine N. Mahoro from Kansas City, MO, and a 2019 Buick, driven by 60-year-old Theresa A. Coleman from Choctaw, OK. The crash occurred when Mahoro changed lanes from the far right to the left, inadvertently striking the side of the Buick. This impact caused the Buick to slide off the right side of the road and overturn.
Emergency responders transported Coleman and her passenger, 62-year-old Benny R. Coleman, also from Choctaw, OK, to North Kansas City Hospital for treatment of injuries. Both occupants of the Buick were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident. Mahoro was able to drive her Kia from the scene, which sustained moderate damage.
