Clay County, MO (November 4, 2024) – A vehicle accident occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 35 Northbound, just south of the 435 interchange. The incident was reported at approximately 6:05 a.m., prompting a response from local emergency services.
According to preliminary reports, the accident involved two vehicles: a 2012 Chevrolet Impala and a 2010 Pontiac Vibe. The Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 23-year-old male from Kansas City, Missouri, was traveling too fast for the road conditions when it began to skid and slide. The Impala then struck the rear of the Pontiac Vibe, which was driven by a 65-year-old male, also from Kansas City. The impact caused the Vibe to veer off the left side of the road, where it struck a concrete barrier.
The driver of the Pontiac Vibe sustained minor injuries and was transported by Kansas City Fire to North Kansas City Hospital for medical evaluation. Fortunately, both drivers were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident. The Chevrolet Impala was driven from the scene, while the Pontiac Vibe was towed by Brad’s Towing due to extensive damage.
