Clay County, MO – Serious Injuries in Multi-Vehicle Accident on SB I-35

Clay County, MO (September 6, 2024) – A multi-vehicle accident occurred on Friday, September 6, on southbound I-35 near mile marker 13.6, leaving one driver seriously injured. Terri L. Simmons, 64, was driving a Chevrolet HHR when she changed lanes, striking a Nissan NV200 driven by Jonathan R. Edmon, 37.

Both vehicles then collided with the towed unit of a Kenworth W900 driven by James P. Raynor, 36. Simmons’ vehicle continued and struck the rear of a Ford Edge driven by Lana R. Kipping, 31. Simmons sustained serious injuries and was transported to North Kansas City Hospital by Claycomo EMS.

Authorities are investigating the crash, and further updates are expected as the inquiry continues.
