Clay County, MO (January 9, 2025) – A pedestrian was injured in a vehicle collision on I-35 Southbound near Armour Rd in Clay County on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 3:10 p.m. and prompted a swift response from the Kansas City Fire Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to authorities, the collision involved a 2017 Ford Fusion driven by a 92-year-old male from Kansas City, MO. The crash happened as the vehicle moved onto the right shoulder of the interstate, striking a 34-year-old male pedestrian from Kansas City, MO. The pedestrian sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Truman Medical Center for treatment. Officials noted that the pedestrian was not utilizing a safety device at the time of the incident.
The Ford Fusion suffered minor damage and was driven away from the scene. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed, and no other injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation by TPR. A.
