Chicago, IL (November 22, 2024) – A tragic crash involving a stolen car, a CTA bus, and another vehicle resulted in one death and injuries to 13 others on Wednesday evening on the city’s South Side. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. near the intersection of West 60th St and South State St, near Englewood and Washington Park, according to Chicago police.
The crash began when three suspects, driving a stolen vehicle, were speeding on South State St, entering oncoming traffic. The stolen car collided with another vehicle and a CTA bus at the intersection. The driver of the car struck by the stolen vehicle was rushed to a hospital but tragically succumbed to their injuries.
Ten individuals, including the driver of the CTA bus (#59), were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
