Chicago, IL (January 11, 2025) – A firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries Friday morning while responding to a fire at Pete’s Warehouse located at 5700 S Kedzie Ave in the Gage Park neighborhood. The incident occurred at approximately 11:13 a.m. CST.
Fire crews quickly worked to extinguish the blaze, and officials confirmed that the fire had been brought under control. The injured firefighter was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. No additional injuries were reported in the incident.
The fire temporarily impacted CTA bus routes #52 and #52A, which were rerouted to accommodate emergency operations. Normal transit operations are expected to resume shortly.
