Chester, WV (November 8, 2024) – A devastating three-vehicle collision on US30 Lincoln Highway near Taylor Road claimed the life of one person and left three others injured on Thursday.
According to the Chester Police Department, a Ford Ranger driven by James Buckel, 73, of Irondale, OH, was traveling westbound when it crossed into the eastbound lanes on a divided section of the highway. The Ford Ranger collided head-on with a Porsche Macan driven by Angela Rekhi of Sewickley, PA, which was traveling eastbound in the passing lane. The impact spun the Porsche, causing it to collide with a Dodge Ram pickup towing a car hauler driven by Roosevelt Bozeman of Clarksville, TN.
The collision left significant damage to all three vehicles. Rekhi and Buckel had to be extricated from their vehicles due to the severity of the crash. Buckel succumbed to his injuries after being transported to East Liverpool City Hospital. Rekhi was airlifted to a Pittsburgh trauma center for treatment. Bozeman and his wife Jamie, who was a passenger in the Dodge Ram, were also transported to East Liverpool City Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The crash is under investigation as authorities work to determine the events leading up to the incident.
