Charlotte, NC (December 20, 2024) – A tragic workplace accident claimed the life of an employee at a local energy production facility in Charlotte on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred around 5:00 PM at the Siemens Energy facility located on Westinghouse Blvd.
Emergency responders, including Medic, were called to the scene. Despite their efforts, the employee was pronounced deceased at the location. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending family notification.
Siemens Energy confirmed that the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has initiated an investigation into the incident. Additionally, the North Carolina Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Division (NC OSHA) has been informed and has assigned the case for inspection to determine compliance with workplace safety standards.
