Charlotte, NC (November 6, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred Sunday night just north of Uptown Charlotte, resulting in the death of a pedestrian. The incident took place shortly before 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Graham Street and Dalton Avenue.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found 54-year-old Michelle Denise Onley lying in the roadway, with a Ford Taurus stopped nearby. Despite immediate medical attention, Onley succumbed to her injuries the following day at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. Investigators reported that she was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
According to police, impairment and speed do not appear to be contributing factors in this tragic incident. However, the driver of the Ford Taurus has been cited for driving on a revoked license.
