Charlotte County, FL (January 21, 2025) – A tragic accident involving a motorcycle and a car resulted in the death of a 42-year-old man from Port Charlotte on Monday afternoon. The crash occurred at approximately 3 p.m. at the intersection of Gasparilla Road and Keystone Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Preliminary reports indicate that a 66-year-old driver from Lancaster was stopped in the left turn lane on Gasparilla Road, north of Keystone Boulevard. The motorcyclist was traveling north on Gasparilla Road, south of Keystone Boulevard, when the car made a left turn, failing to yield to oncoming traffic and blocking the motorcyclist’s path.
The motorcycle struck the right side of the vehicle, causing severe injuries to the motorcyclist. Emergency responders transported the injured man to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. FHP has confirmed that the accident remains under investigation.
