Cass County, MO (February 21, 2025) – A serious crash involving two semi-trucks occurred on northbound Interstate 49 at the 165.8-mile marker, leaving one driver injured.
Emergency responders, including West Peculiar Fire and local paramedics, arrived at the scene around 8:30 a.m. The collision involved a 2025 Kenworth 310 and a 2017 International truck tractor. According to reports, the Kenworth struck the rear of the International’s towed unit, causing it to skid. The cab of the Kenworth separated from the trailer, rolled, and came to rest in the median, while the trailer blocked both northbound lanes. The International truck came to a controlled stop on the shoulder.
The 34-year-old driver of the Kenworth, from Clinton, MO, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Belton Regional Hospital by emergency medical personnel. The 58-year-old driver of the International, from Jarrell, TX, was not reported injured. The Kenworth sustained total damage and was towed from the scene, while the International had minor damage and was driven away.
Authorities, including Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, assisted in clearing the roadway and conducting an investigation.
