Cass County, MO (November 15, 2024) – A serious multi-vehicle accident occurred on northbound I-49 just south of N Cass Pkwy around 5:37 PM. The crash involved three vehicles, including a 2016 Jeep Cherokee, a 2020 Kia Sedona, and a 2019 Dodge Journey. Emergency responders were quick to the scene, providing care to the injured victims. Two individuals, one from the Kia Sedona and one from the Jeep Cherokee, sustained serious injuries and were transported by South Metro EMS to Research Medical Center.
The accident unfolded when the Dodge Journey, driven by a 51-year-old male from Milo, MO, stopped for traffic congestion ahead. The Kia Sedona, driven by a 41-year-old female from Lee’s Summit, MO, failed to stop in time, striking the rear of the Journey. The force of the impact caused the Jeep Cherokee, driven by a 30-year-old female from Adrian, MO, to collide with the back of the Kia. After the initial impact, the Kia struck the rear of the Dodge again, and the Journey came to a stop in the median. The vehicles were towed from the scene by GT Tow. Both injured victims were quickly treated and transported by EMS.
