Carey, ID (January 16, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision on US 26/93 just north of Carey claimed the lives of two individuals Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. near milepost 213, east of Fishcreek Reservoir Rd, according to the Idaho State Police and Blaine County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities report that a 55-year-old man from Idaho Falls was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup when he crossed the centerline and collided with a 2021 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 62-year-old woman. Both drivers sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 38-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Toyota 4Runner, was critically injured and airlifted to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello for treatment. Officials confirmed that all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
