Cape Girardeau, MO (February 22, 2025) – A crash occurred on MO AB, about one-half mile west of Scott City, at 3:37 p.m. Friday, when Vehicle 2, a 2011 Nissan Juke, struck the rear of the towed unit of Vehicle 1, a 2024 Kenworth truck.
The 22-year-old male driver of Vehicle 2 sustained injuries and was transported to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau by EMS. Vehicle 1’s driver, a 43-year-old male from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, was uninjured and was able to continue driving the vehicle from the scene.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. As both vehicles were traveling westbound, the investigation may look into possible braking issues, failure to maintain a safe distance, or driver distraction.
