Cape Coral, FL (November 1, 2024) – A serious T-bone crash occurred Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Burnt Store Road and Embers Parkway West, resulting in injuries to five individuals. Emergency responders from Cape Coral Fire and Lee County EMS were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:44 PM.
Preliminary reports indicate that the collision involved two vehicles, leading to a total of five people sustaining injuries. Among the injured, two individuals were declared “Trauma Alerts.” The first trauma alert involved a 48-year-old man, who was airlifted to Gulf Coast Medical Center via LeeFlight helicopter. The second trauma alert involved a 17-year-old boy, who was transported by ground to the same medical facility. Additionally, three other individuals sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for further evaluation and treatment.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the Cape Coral Police Department has classified the incident as a “Traffic Homicide Investigation.” This designation reflects the presence of life-threatening injuries among the victims. As a result, all lanes of Burnt Store Road at Embers Parkway West have been shut down to facilitate the investigation and ensure the safety of responders and the public.
