Campbellsport, WI (December 14, 2024) – A tragic two-vehicle crash on Highway 45 near County Hwy Y resulted in one fatality and serious injuries Friday night. The accident occurred around 9:45 p.m., prompting a significant emergency response, including Campbellsport Fire and Ambulance, Kewaskum Ambulance, and Flight For Life.
Initial reports indicated that both drivers involved were unconscious, though later updates confirmed that they had regained consciousness. However, at approximately 10:32 p.m., emergency personnel reported that one of the drivers had succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The collision involved a southbound vehicle driven by a 26-year-old West Bend man and a northbound vehicle operated by a 16-year-old girl from Campbellsport. According to investigators, the southbound vehicle crossed the centerline, striking the northbound car. The impact caused the girl’s vehicle to roll multiple times before coming to rest on its side. The man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The teenage driver, who had been wearing her seatbelt, was seriously injured and airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee for treatment.
