Camp Hill, PA (October 16, 2024) – An elderly driver has been cited following a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday morning in Camp Hill. At approximately 11:45 a.m., officers from the Camp Hill Police Department responded to reports of a five-vehicle collision along the 2100 block of Market Street.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers determined that the incident began when the striking vehicle collided with a stopped car. This initial impact caused the stopped vehicle to be pushed into the rear of the car in front of it, which then resulted in a chain reaction, pushing a third vehicle into another car. In a concerning turn of events, the driver of the vehicle that initiated the crash then reversed and struck the car behind them.
As a result of the collision, two vehicles were towed from the scene due to significant damage. The 84-year-old driver was cited for careless driving and following too closely, highlighting the importance of maintaining safe distances while driving.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported three of the involved drivers to the hospital for evaluation. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown, and the incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
