Callaway County, MO (January 15, 2025) – Emergency responders rushed to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on I-70 Eastbound near the 149.6 mile marker early Tuesday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 8:06 a.m., involving a 2017 Volvo VNL truck and a 2014 Buick Enclave.
First responders, including Callaway County Fire and Rescue, provided assistance to those involved. The Buick Enclave, driven by a 39-year-old female from Montgomery City, sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene. The driver of the Buick suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Callaway County EMS to Boone Hospital for further treatment. The Volvo VNL, driven by a 35-year-old male from Indianapolis, sustained minor damage and was secured on the scene.
Authorities reported that the collision occurred when the Buick struck the towed unit of the Volvo. Assisting officers from the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office and additional Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers supported the investigation. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
