Calhoun County, FL (November 11, 2024) – A serious head-on collision in Calhoun County left multiple people injured Sunday morning. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers reported that the crash occurred around 9 a.m. on Northwest County Road 73 B.
According to FHP, a 67-year-old woman from Altha was driving an SUV westbound when her vehicle crossed the center line into the opposite lane. The SUV collided head-on with another SUV traveling eastbound, which had a 42-year-old Altha woman as the driver and four passengers inside.
The 67-year-old driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. In the second SUV, three of the four passengers, including two minors aged 12 and 15, sustained minor injuries. The fourth passenger, a 46-year-old man, also from Altha, suffered serious injuries. All involved were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Troopers are investigating the cause of the collision and have not released further details at this time.
