Butler, MO (October 31, 2024) – A traffic accident occurred on the morning of October 31, 2024, at approximately 8:40 a.m. on US 67, about three miles south of Poplar Bluff. Emergency responders, including local law enforcement and medical teams, were dispatched to the scene following reports of a collision involving two vehicles.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 2010 Buick Lucerne, driven by 82-year-old George G. Asher from Fairdealing, collided with the rear of a 2013 Ford Explorer, operated by 79-year-old Douglas P. Jones from Doniphan. The impact resulted in significant damage to the Buick, which was deemed a total loss and subsequently removed from the scene by Rushins Wrecker. The Ford Explorer sustained minor damage and was driven away from the scene.
Injuries were reported as a result of the collision. Linda M. Asher, a 78-year-old female occupant of the Buick, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Butler County EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
