Butler County, MO (November 2, 2024) – A serious traffic accident occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Route M, one mile west of Poplar Bluff. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of a collision involving two vehicles.
According to the crash report investigated by TPR E.N. Stinson, the incident involved a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2005 Cadillac DeVille. Preliminary information indicates that the Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 20-year-old male from Doniphan, was attempting to pass the Cadillac when it struck the vehicle on the side. The impact caused the Silverado to run off the roadway, strike a ditch, and subsequently overturn.
The driver of the Silverado was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash and sustained serious injuries. He was transported by air evacuation to St. Louis University Hospital for medical treatment. The Cadillac, driven by a 41-year-old male from Poplar Bluff, sustained minor damage and was also towed from the scene.
