Burnett County, WI (January 3, 2025) – A pedestrian suffered severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning on State Highway 35 at County Road FF. Authorities responded to the scene at approximately 12:05 a.m., finding the injured man lying in the roadway.
According to the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was airlifted to a Minnesota hospital for medical treatment due to the extent of his injuries. The driver, identified as a 53-year-old Wisconsin resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (1st offense) causing injury and was booked into the Burnett County Jail. The incident remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released.
