Brunswick County, NC (October 18, 2024) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred on Mt. Misery Road in Brunswick County on Thursday evening, resulting in the death of an individual. The incident took place around 8 p.m. near Sunbury Street Northeast. According to Sergeant Gold with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a pickup truck struck the pedestrian while they were in the roadway.
Following the initial collision, the driver of the pickup truck went into a nearby convenience store to seek help for the injured pedestrian. Unfortunately, while assistance was being called, the pedestrian was struck again by a black passenger car and subsequently by a silver SUV. Despite the efforts to help, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries.
