Brooklyn, NY (September 12, 2024) – A 74-year-old man, Segundo Reina-Gaon, was fatally struck by an SUV in a hit-and-run on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred just after 8:55 p.m. as Reina-Gaon was crossing Ridge Blvd at Bay Ridge Ave.

The white SUV, traveling northbound, hit Reina-Gaon and pushed him into a parked car before fleeing the scene. Several parked vehicles sustained damage during the accident.

Reina-Gaon was transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead. Police are reviewing surveillance footage and using drones to investigate the incident.
